As a sequel to this, efforts had already been made by tamil aarvaLarhaL to bring out their collections about districts. I have got, a copy of NADANDHAY VAAZHI TIRUCHCHIRAPPALLI! brought out by Sri Su.Muruganandham(price Rs 300) in 2002 wherein there are interesting articles including one by Dr Kalaikkovan on Temple architecture in Tiruchy District. (Pages 23-29)It encompasses History,Politics,Art and Literature, and Misc besides important events of the 20thcentury, as also a compendium on who is who in this district. A valuable collection indeed.Published by Kaaveri Pathippagam, 119, salai road, Uraiyur, Tiruchy-620 003. Possibly there must be individual efforts by eminent personalities of the other districts too. Also the district gazetteers brought out by the British would be a source of valuable information too. For the new collectors to understand their districts, these were published by the British very similar to the Handing over charge notes of officers now prevalent in government offices. yours sincerely, d.seshadri
